The goal of this lesson is to select the best career for YOU!
Here, you will complete the Action Steps* to dream about a career for you,
plan how to get there, and begin your journey!
1. Dream it!
a. Go to Career Cruiser and create an account. Print the document if it's easier.
o What are your interests? What do you like? What do you value? Complete pg. 1-5.
o Select three careers and see what you need to enter those jobs. Read and complete pg. 8 of the Career Cruiser.
b. Review resources including career salaries & job demand.
o Overview pages 11-26 of the Career Cruiser
o Research: Salaries (O*Net)
2. Plan It!
Overview resources available to you:
o IRSC Programs & Careers
o Financial Aid – a great resource when you earn your high school diploma
o Industry Certification
o Occupational skills:
o Occupational Handbook
3. Do It!
a. Overview Career and Transition Services for resume writing
b. Complete the Budget on page 19 of the Career Cruiser.
c. Complete page 22 & 23 of the Career Cruiser selecting three top career goals.
